NE-LOVE Magazine - Front Cover design
Graphic design, artwork & art direction
A commissioned illustration piece for the publication NE-LOVE. This project involved producing a new front cover for the Magazines 2nd Birthday Edition. The clients were ideally looking to push the magazine in a new artistic direction with regard to style, imagery and the communication of the brand with its current theme. I was able to work closely with the publication to produce some striking artwork incorporating imagery representing their rather controversial topic,
 'The Walk Of Shame'.

The communication of a rather adult topic and theme required subtle uses of inappropriate imagery, covered up by illustrative motifs and patterns in order to make the design view-able to all audiences.

The blend of photo-manipulation, bitmap artwork and the incorporation of a 1980's Punk theme produced a strikingly bold collage piece bringing together striking color and pattern.
The final cover design incorporating the brands red color scheme and gold title was published in November 2015 and was very well received by viewers and patrons of the publication resulting in the re-print and re-distribution of the issue. The illustrations below are variations on the initial design.

Client Testimonial -

“In November 2015 we were determined not to go for a 'Santa Clause and snowflakes' front cover as it just is not the kind of thing NE Love magazine would ever do.
There were some great ideas, but eventually we decided to choose the design produced by Jack Nassau, Jack had really got inside the idea and worked with the brief, it was important to us that the chosen candidate had taken the time to get to know the publication.
In the end we had a cover that was produced on time fitted the brief perfectly and in the end turned out to be one of Ritson Creative (The magazine's lead designer) and in fact my favorite covers to date.

I look forward to perhaps working with Jack Nassau on future projects.
